KETO SEVEN LAYER DIP

Seven layer dip is the perfect Keto food except for one layer…the beans. Beans are high carb and a no-go when it comes to Keto. In this version we use a layer of seasoned ground beef in place of the beans. You’ll love all the flavors in this appetizer.

INGREDIENTS:

  • ground beef
  • sour cream
  • guacamole
  • tomatoes
  • cheese
  • green onions
  • olives

HOW TO MAKE KETO SEVEN LAYER DIP

beef1st layer: taco seasoned ground beef

sour cream

2nd layer: sour cream seasoned with taco seasoning

guacamole

3rd layer: guacamole, homemade or store bought

tomatoes

4th layer: tomatoes

cheese

5th layer: shredded cheddar cheese

green onions

WHAT DO I USE TO DIP?

For Keto, you’ll want to use pork rinds or your favorite protein chips. We like these Quest chips. You could also use celery.

Ingredients

  • 1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning, divided
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • 3/4 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup sliced green onions
  • 1 ounce sliced olives (about 2 tablespoons)

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of the taco seasoning with the sour cream. Set aside.
  • In a skillet, brown the beef until no longer pink. Add the remaining taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water and cook until liquid has reduced. Cool completely.
  • In an 8x8 glass dish, layer the ingredients as follows: beef, sour cream, guacamole, tomatoes, cheese, green onions, and olives. Serve with pork rinds, protein chips, or your choice of dipper.
