CLASSIC BEEF STIR FRY
In honor of my blog anniversary I’ve been sharing a few recipes from my cookbook Scrumptious. If you need an easy recipe that is loaded with veggies and protein in 20 minutes, this is your dinner!
SIMPLE INGREDIENTS
- VEGETABLE OIL OR OLIVE OIL – You can use any oil with a high smoke point.
- BEEF SIRLOIN STEAK OR FLANK STEAK – Skirt steak is a good option here.
- BROCCOLI FLORETS
- BELL PEPPERS
- CARROTS
- GARLIC
- LOW-SODIUM SOY SAUCE – Coconut aminos can be substituted.
- BROWN SUGAR
- SESAME OIL
- SRIRACHA
- GREEN ONIONS
- SESAME SEEDS
VEGGIE VARIATIONS
Really you can use almost any fresh vegetables you have on hand. It’s a great clean out the fridge dinner. Here are a few options:
- snow peas
- bok choy
- green beans
- baby corn
- water chestnuts
WHAT TO SERVE WITH THIS
Serve over white rice, brown rice, or cauliflower rice for a low-carb option.

Easy Beef Stir-Fry
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, (or olive oil)
- 1 pound beef sirloin or flank steak, cut into 2-inch strips
- 1 1/2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into strips
- 1 cup matchstick carrots
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sriracha
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a large skillet or wok, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add beef, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, about 4 minutes.
- Move beef strips to the side of the pan. Add broccoli, red bell pepper and carrots in a single layer. Cook vegetables for about 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
- Stir in soy sauce and brown sugar. Cook until vegetables reach desired tenderness.
- Drizzle with sesame oil and sriracha. Sprinkle with green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container.
