Easy Feta Dip
Easy Feta Dip – a simple crowd pleasing Greek appetizer that can be prepared in minutes with tomatoes, onions, and little olive oil. Greek inspired and so easy! This is best served with toasted and sliced baguettes. Great for potlucks!
EAST FETA DIP
Fresh feta, tomatoes, green onions, and some Greek seasoning make this simple appetizer crave worthy.
Since New Year’s Eve is all about the appetizers and right around the corner, I thought this would be a great last second dip.
HOW TO MAKE FETA DIP
First, start with a large platter and a cover it with a thin layer of olive oil.
Next, dice up some tomatoes and slice some green onions. Kitchen scissors work great for slicing green onions…the only way to go.
Add some Greek seasoning here. Cavender’s is what I used – about 2-3 teaspoons.
Finally, mix it all together and you’re done. Serve this Easy Feta Dip with warm sliced baguettes. This is a must!
Thanks Clover’s Lane for this fresh and easy recipe.

Easy Feta Dip
Easy Feta Dip - a simple crowd pleasing Greek appetizer that can be prepared in minutes with tomatoes, onions, and little olive oil. Greek inspired and so easy! This is best served with toasted and sliced baguettes. Great for potlucks!
Ingredients
- about 1/3 cup olive oil
- 3 Roma tomatoes, seeded and diced
- 4-5 green onions, sliced thinly
- 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled (see Note)
- 2-3 teaspoons Cavender's Greek seasoning
- fresh baguette, sliced thinly
- optional balsamic vinegar
Instructions
-
On a large platter drizzle olive oil until you have a thin layer on the entire platter. You may use more or less here depending on your preference.
-
Add the tomatoes, green onions, and feta on top of the olive oil. Sprinkle with the Greek seasoning to taste.
-
With a spoon carefully combine the ingredients. We found that we like a little drizzle of balsamic vinegar on top. If desired, drizzle a little balsamic on top.
-
Serve with warm sliced baguettes for scooping up the dip.
Recipe Notes
Fresh feta that comes in a block is what is preferred here. It's a lot more moist. The precrumbled cheese is fine but a little more dry.

yummy as is, but I had some cucumbers to to use, so I threw them in with a slash of red wine vinegar and some fresh ground pepper. Didn’t have greek seasoning, so I added some fresh oregano and thyme.
A little fresh garlic was good, but a little strong.
Can you make this the night before?
Ummm. I think it would get soggy maybe. I would prep all the stuff the night before then throw it together.
This looks dangerous ! I love love love FETA!! I can’t wait to try this but I better buy double the Feta. There is a chance I might find myself “nibbling” on the feta while making the dip.
Can this be made the night before?
I personally wouldn’t do it the night before. I would prep everything and then throw it together right before.
the traditional seasoning we use for this dip is oregano!! you can find it pretty easy http://www.trofos.com/pagesall/products.aspx?cid=53
Does it matter if you use extra virgin olive oil?
No, not at all. I always use extra virgin olive oil.
I just want to say that I have had this. My sister made it for a party and it was absolutely delicious! Here is the tip I wanted to offer-she had some left over (shockingly!) and I used it to make omelettes the next day. Oh, my goodness GOOD!
Made this last night for my husband & myself…instead of green onion, I used a chopped banana pepper from our garden. I had some leftover and mixed it with some salad greens for lunch today. Yummy!! Thanks for passing along a great recipe!
I made this dip when I had company over and everyone loved it. Just a tip, make a extra large batch. It is that good.
I’m going to make this as an appetizer for Mother ‘s Day! Any idea how many this serves? Thanks!!!
Hmmm. I would say about 8 people. Hard to say. It depends how much they eat!
Perfect!!! Thanks for the estimate, Christy….and thanks again for the recipe!! 🙂
Made this for a party and everyone LOVED it. Everyone was asking for the recipe. I wish I could find an alternative to the greek seasoning though because of the MSG. Does anyone have a homemade greek seasoning recipe?
I order from Penzy’s spices. no msg in their Greek Seasoning
I use Ya Ya B’s Greek Seasoning…so much better than Cavenders.

Would it change things dramatically to add cucumber?
I think that would be tasty!
I love your beautiful pictures….great job & great recipe! The platter used for the feta dip is beautiful and I would like to purchase one to serve the dip in. Where can I purchase it?
I got it at HomeGoods!
I have a lot of herbs & seasonings in the kitchen but not specifically “Greek seasoning”. Could you give a me a run down of what is in Greek seasoning so I could improvise? This recipe sounds so delish and easy, looking forward to making it.
All Greek seasonings are a little different but here’s one comparable: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Greek-Seasoning-2/Detail.aspx
Made this for book club tonight; not a bit leftover!
Wow! AMAZING! I’ll definitely be making this again. Thank you!
This recipe was made by my g/f on Superbowl Sunday. Everyone wo had some LOVED IT and asked for the recipe. Will DEFINITELY be taking this more often
Good to hear!
I just made this for superbowl and loved it!
What a great recipe!
And so easy, right?
Love this, but anything Greeky for me has to include some black olives. I really like the idea of hummus as the base.
I agree. But I’m an olive hater. Feel free to add them!
This sounds totally easy and really refreshing. Yum!
This looks so easy and delish! I can’t wait to find a reason to make it : )
Looks tasty. Can’t wait to try it.
I make this same dip, but instead of olive oil on the bottom, I use hummus and serve with pita chips! It’s so so good.
My mom sent me a recipe for feta dip just like this (it might be the same recipe) and I have yet to try it!! looks good!
Oh this looks so good! Love how easy it is!
I have made this dip many times for parties and it is always a crowd pleaser.
