EASY BLUEBERRY COBBLER RECIPE

If you’re looking for the easiest cobbler recipe that hits all of those cravings, this is it. Fresh blueberries nestled in warm golden brown cobbler topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS BLUEBERRY COBBLER

  • It’s quick and easy. It can be in the oven in 5 minutes.
  • You can use fresh blueberries during blueberry season or frozen blueberries in the offseason.

BLUEBERRY COBBLER INGREDIENTS

  • ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR – Originally in my peach cobbler, I used self rising flour but most people don’t have that on hand so I add baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • SUGAR – A little sugar in the batter and a little on top for crunch. You can adjust this depending on the ripeness of your berries.
  • WHOLE MILK – Any milk will do but I prefer full fat milk.
  • UNSALTED BUTTER
  • VANILLA EXTRACT
  • LEMON ZEST – This is optional but adds so much in my opinion. You can use a splash of lemon juice as well.
  • BLUEBERRIES – Fresh is best but frozen can also be used. Just thaw and pat dry.

HOW TO MAKE BLUEBERRY COBBLER?

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉ and grease a 9″ baking dish (it can be square or round). Melt butter in the pan in the oven as it’s preheating or in the microwave then pour it in the pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir in the milk, vanilla, and lemon zest if using. Pour on top of melted butter.blueberries with batter
  3. Sprinkle the blueberries on top of the batter. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until golden brown. Let cobbler cool slightly before serving. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

BLUEBERRY COBBLER VS BLUEBERRY CRISP

Cobblers usually have a biscuit like crust whereas crisps usually have oats or nuts in them.

Look at those juicy blueberries.

BAKING DISH SIZE

You can use any 9″ baking dish. You can use round or square baking dish.

HOW TO SERVE

Notes

You can use less sugar in the blueberry filling if your blueberries are really sweet.
