SLOW COOKER BBQ CHICKEN

Sometimes you just need a crockpot recipe that you can prep in 5 minutes because you know you’re going to be gone all day. This is one of those easy recipes. You can eat it plan or on hamburger buns.

Crockpot BBQ Chicken

INGREDIENTS

  • BONELESS SKINLESS CHICKEN BREASTS
  • BARBECUE SAUCE – You can use any kind of BBQ sauce or even make your own homemade BBQ sauce. I like Sweet Baby Ray’s bbq sauce or for a sugar free version I like G Hughes.
  • ITALIAN DRESSING – The copycat Olive Garden dressing sold at the store is the one I use.
  • BROWN SUGAR – This sweetens up the chicken a bit. I have used Monkfruit as a substitute.
  • WORCHESTERSHIRE SAUCE – This adds some savory flavor.

Crockpot BBQ Chicken

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Place chicken in slow cooker. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Mix together the rest of the ingredients and pour over the chicken. Cook on low heat for 5-6 hours or on high heat for 3-4 hours. Shred chicken on a cutting board and add shredded chicken back to the Crock pot in the sauce. Serve plain or on hamburger buns with a little extra BBQ sauce and creamy coleslaw. Store leftover BBQ chicken in an airtight container in the fridge.

EASY WAY TO SHRED CHICKEN

To shred the chicken, remove chicken breast, place in a bowl, and beat the chicken breasts with a hand mixer or stand mixer. It shreds it perfectly even and fine. Don’t overshred it though!
