Why You’ll Love These Cottage Cheese Egg Bites

These egg bites are trending for a reason. Here’s why they’re worth making:

  • High protein: Each serving is packed with protein from eggs and cottage cheese. Around 9-10 grams of protein per bite.
  • Low carb & keto-friendly
  • Meal prep perfect: Make once and eat all week
  • Kid-friendly and customizable with simple ingredients
  • Ready in under 30 minutes

Cottage cheese also adds extra creaminess without needing heavy cream, making these egg bites lighter but still rich.

PAN SIZE

Every muffin tin is different in size by just a little bit. One batch filled 12 of my silicone muffin pan and only 9 of my regular muffin tin.

Flavor Variations

One of the best things about cottage cheese egg bites is how customizable they are.

  • Bacon Cheddar – Add crispy bacon bits, green onions, and extra cheddar cheese. This one is my favorite!
  • Mediterranean – Mix in spinach, feta cheese, and sun-dried tomatoes.
  • Veggie Lovers – Use mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, and zucchini.
  • Spicy Southwest – Add jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, and cooked chorizo.Cottage Cheese Egg Bites are a healthy, high-protein breakfast that’s quick, delicious, and meal-prep friendly? Can I taste the cottage cheese?

Not really. Once blended and baked, it melts into the eggs and adds creaminess without a strong flavor.

Do I need a blender?

It helps make the texture smooth but you can also whisk together by hand.

Cottage Cheese Egg Bites are healthy, high-protein egg bites that are quick, delicious, and meal-prep friendly. These cottage cheese egg bites are soft, fluffy, and packed with protein and healthy fats to keep you full for hours. They’re perfect for busy mornings, post-workout fuel, or a low-carb snack.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 12 servings

Ingredients

  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, (add pepper to taste)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • (optional add ins) bacon, ham, green onions, feta, tomatoes, etc.

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350℉ and spray a muffin tin well or use a silicon pan. This is the hardest part of the recipe. Eggs like to stick so grease it well or best case scenario use a silicone pan.
  • In a blender, add the eggs, cottage cheese, salt and pepper. Blend egg mixture until smooth.
  • Fill between 9-12 muffin cups with the blended mixture. Every pan is slightly different in size so you'll want to fill them almost to the top about 3/4 full. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the shredded cheese on top of each egg cup. It will sink slightly. Add any other toppings you desire.
  • Bake for 18 minutes. Pull from the oven and sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese evenly on top. Bake for an additional 4-6 minutes or until cheese is melted and eggs are set. *Note - I have noticed that a metal pan cooks faster whereas a silicon pan cooks slower so you may need to cook on the longer side. Remove from the oven and cool slightly. Loosen edges with a knife if needed and eat.
