Melt butter in a large saucepan. Add mushrooms, onion and bell pepper. Saute for a few minutes until veggies are soft and mushrooms are golden brown.
Sprinkle flour over mixture and stir for a few minutes. Slowly whisk in chicken broth and cook over medium heat until thickened.
Reduce heat to low. Add the chicken, cream, peas, pimentos, and garlic powder. Simmer for a few minutes until heated through. Add salt and pepper to taste.
