Keto Biscuits
Keto Biscuits are grain free, gluten free, keto friendly and low carb. Good tasting Keto bread is hard to find but these cheddar biscuits with a garlic butter glaze are delicious! They taste just like the biscuits at Red Lobster.
KETO BISCUITS
My hubby is a faithful follower of the Keto diet and I’ve done it as well in the past. For our church potluck this weekend he was determined to make Keto friendly cheesy biscuits since everyone else was bringing cornbread to go with their chili.
My husband had a big plate of these covered in foil on his table so that he could hand them out to his friends also doing Keto at the potluck. These biscuits were so good that non-Keto people were coming up to my husband and saying, “I’ve heard you have the good biscuits!”
If you know the Keto diet well you know it’s hard to make a Keto bread that isn’t soggy or flavorless. These biscuits have a crisp outside with a tender cheesy inside.
I love these Cheddar Bay Biscuits (non-Keto) that I already have on this blog with their garlic butter glaze. These are a twist on those!
WHERE DO I BUY ALMOND FLOUR?
Almond flour is sold by the regular flour and is also sold at Costco.
WHY IS THIS KETO OR LOW-CARB?
Don’t be scared if you aren’t on the Keto diet. The Keto diet is a very low-carb diet which makes this recipe perfect with a net carb of 2 grams. See nutritional information at the bottom of the recipe.
MY BISCUITS ARE FLAT
But they taste great, right? We’ve found that the shape of the biscuits can be affected by the type of cheese you use. We like to use freshly grated cheddar cheese or cheese “off the block” sold at the store for the thicker cheese pieces. Tillamook is the brand we use. We’ve noticed that the biscuits stay in a biscuit shape and don’t flatten when you use this type of cheese. You can always add a little more almond flour to make them not as wet as well.

Notes
OMG🙌🙌🙌 I grated a block of Fontina Cheese which is mild & crazy delicious therefore making these a perfect option to go with absolutely any meal choice. I also added a little fresh chives which took them over the top Stupid Delicious 😋 💥🔥💥👍🙌⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sounds amazzzzing
Oh My! Delicious and easy!! I didn’t have cottage chesses but had some ricotta and oh so good!!!
Thank you!
Love the recipe for Keto biscuits. One question – recipe says 3 tablespoons of dollops on tray, I used one and they are still huge! Does the recipe mean 3 teaspoons?
I will be trying more of your recipes😃
John
I do 2-3 tablespoons but you can make them smaller if you want
Big hit! Delicious!
Thank you!
These were HORRIBLE!!!!!!
I think you are the only person that thinks that
I think that she mistyped. She must have meant, “I’m a HORRIBLE cook!!!!!”.
These really do taste just like Red Lobster biscuits!! I used sharp cheddar and packed it pretty tight in the cup and followed the directions exactly as printed. Loved them and hid them so they will last me the week. I know once my family gets to try them, I will be making them all of the time. Thank you for a wonderful recipe. It’s a keeper.
So happy you liked them!
These are so delish. I’ve made them a few times. It’s impossible to eat just one. How long are they good for?
I keep them in the fridge for a few days.
I am not a great baker when it comes to any keto recipes that involve making any type of dough from scratch…but…HOLY COW this was the easiest recipe ever!! I made these as my biscuits for a sausage and gravy breakfast, replaced the cottage cheese with sour cream and used smoked cheddar cheese. My hubby said they tasted like the red lobster biscuits, without me telling him that is what I was going for!! I loved the texture on these bad boys and plan to use this recipe for pizza dough (cooking about 8 min and then placing my toppings on and cooking for 10 min) THANK YOU for making baking a little easier!!
Yay!!! That makes me happy
Amazingly good! Definitely bookmarking this recipe. I didn’t have sour cream or cottage cheese, so I used nonfat plain Greek yogurt. The biscuits were plump and delicious!
How was it with the yogurt?
Great substitution!
Oh my! These were delicious!
The next time I will try it with mozzarella instead of cheddar to give a more neutral flavor and I will add a pinch more of salt.
But they were fantastic as they are! Thanks.
These were very good! I used sour cream and followed the recipe exactly, but the only issue I had was they were flat. Any ideas? These will be my go-to biscuit.
Make sure you add enough almond flour and pile the dough high.
So good~ have made them 5 times now, once with sour cream instead of cottage cheese (not quite as perfect) ~ they are great, perfect for a soup night dinner!
These were delicious!! My only problem was that they stuck like crazy to the parchment paper. They were basically bottomless by the time I got them off. Any advice on how to fix that?
thank you..bookmarked in my keto recipe folder for sure
oops 5 star rating by the way 😉
You’ll love them!
These are some amazing little keto biscuits thank you so much for this recipe
These were delicious, my date said they taste like cheesy cornbread. How do you recommend storing the leftovers?
Just in an airtight container.
Delicious! I’ve made these many, many times and they’re a huge hit! I’ve reduced the salt in the butter brush a little, but other than that, I wouldn’t change anything.
I love these too! Glad you do too.
Biscuit recipe easy to follow and what a pleasant surprise! Delicious!
Thank you!
What would you substitute for almond flour?
Very nice loved it
Happy to hear that!
Oh wow, these biscuits turned out amazing!!! Thank you for an awesome recipe I will use over and over again.
Thank you!
I never comment on things, but these were amazing and I’m quite picky! Even my 14 year old son who hates all things keto lived one! Only thing I changed is using (Canadian) cheddar cheese and I used fresh parsley. I used an ice cream scoop left in that shape onto a silicone silpat and they were perfect.
So happy!
These were surprisingly tasty. But of course, anything dripping in butter and garlic is tasty. 😀
I will make these again.
Ha true.
Do you have to put cheese in them? If so can I substitute some other kind?
The cheese kind of makes the biscuits. You can definitely use another kind.
Can you freeze these keto cheese biscuits?
Absolutely!
Hi! I can’t wait to make these! Any idea if I need to change anything for high altitude? Thanks!
Nope! I’m at high altitude.
Yummy! First time making them and they turned out tall and puffy with the inside being soft. I was able to make 6. My kids loved them too!
So happy to hear that!
Will the dough still be good if I make it the night before I plan to bake it?
Yep! Should be fine!
I’ve been making these to go with chili, stews and even chicken wings. They are so tasty and my non keto husband loves them as well
My kids love them too!
These were fabulous! I did use sour cream instead of cottage cheese. So glad I didn’t spend the money on a keto biscuit mix!
I made these biscuits and they turned out amazing. I didn’t have any sour cream so I substituted plain Greek yogurt. Thank you on keto and missing bread. This recipe is perfect!
Thank you!
Glad you liked them. We make them once a week!
Good
Thank yoU!
Thank you for sharing this recipe ! Very good !! Non keto hubby approved !!
Ha we made them tonight!
