Favorite Eats of 2012

favoritesWe ate a lot of food in 2012. Whenever I see these pictures of food I remember when I made it, who I ate it with, and what we were doing. I LOVE that about food. It brings memories back with just one whiff. Here are your favorites of 2012 in no particular order.

    My Mom always made these little snacks, only she did not marinate the chestmuts, she just wrapped them with bacon and put a sauce of ketchup and brown sugar on them and left some for dipping. Never thought about the sugar on the outside. Hummmm.

I have to say even though I am not the best cook I may have to print out a few of these ideas to try (pepperoni string roll ups and cake batter muddy buddies look amazing). My 2012 consisted of gluten free cooking and surprisingly it was really great ( I did cheat every now and then). I have quite a few friends who are gluten intolerant and have opened my eyes to the world of gluten free cooking! I would highly recommend the website http://www.ninacucina.com/. I recently purchased her book, Nina Cucina: Your Healthy Gourmet and I have become addicted to gluten free recipes! As I mentioned before; I am not a great cook but I found this book (and website) so informative and so easy to follow. For every single recipe the author, Nina Pucillo, gives the nutritional value of each dish and step-by-step instructions on how to prepare the dish. All of the dishes featured in the book are totally gluten-free and Nina has included many recipes that are dairy-free too! Thanks for sharing! I hope my suggestion inspires your for your 2013 list (perhaps??) 🙂
