If you’re vegetarian you may want to look away…

…because I think my burger ate my other burger.

Eleven years ago when I was single and a bowl of budget friendly broccoli was considered dinner, I never imagine that someday my husband would request that I make this. He saw it in his Muscle & Fitness magazine and ripped it out for me to make for Father’s Day but I made it early.

I have to admit when I first saw it I was a little disgusted. I like myself a burger but good grief. But it was delicious! Definitely dude food packed with protein and minus the carbs.
You’ve got the burger topped with a fried egg, avocado, salsa, and cheese. If you’ve never had an egg burger you are missing out. Unless, you hate eggs…then I don’t know what to tell you.
You could downsize this into normal person sized portions, use ground turkey, or even add a bun. But don’t leave off the egg. It makes the whole burger.

Bunless Fiesta Hamburgers

Ditch the carbs and enjoy these bunless fiesta hamburgers. They have fun colors and bright flavors so you won't miss that bun.


  • 1 lb 85% lean ground beef
  • Montreal steak seasoning
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 avocado
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1 cup Mexican shredded cheese


  1. Preheat your grill. Mix 1-2 tablespoons of seasoning into the beef in a large bowl. Shape two hamburgers out of the ground beef (or smaller ones if you don't want one gigantic burger). Grill burgers until desired doneness.
  2. While burgers are grilling fry your eggs in a skillet until yolks are slightly set but still runny. Top each grilled burger with one fried egg, half and avocado, half of the salsa, and half of the shredded cheese.
