Lightroom 4 and Blurb photo books

Father’s Day is almost here and it is so hard to buy anything for my hubby. He doesn’t want much and what he does want he buys himself after much researching and price comparisons.

When the people from Adobe offered to send me Lightroom 4, I was thrilled! I’ve been using Photoshop Elements for years for family and food photography and couldn’t wait to get my hands on the much coveted Lightroom 4 which gives you even more options and power to do what you want to your pictures.

The coolest thing about the new version is that you can make photo books within the Lightroom program and order them with one click from Blurb. A photo book is always a great gift for your dad or husband. It’s a sentimental gift they can keep and your kids can flip through.

Check out some of the book I made my husband. And I’m not worried about ruining the surprise for Father’s Day because my husband doesn’t read my blog…

I made a book of some of my favorite pictures of him and the kids over the years. Here’s the front cover…

Lightroom will take the pictures from the folder you choose and arrange them in a book for you in whatever template you want. You can put one picture per page or more depending on what template you choose.

You can add a small caption or a full on story depending on the layout you use.

Once you’re finished, just push the button on the bottom right to send your book to Blurb to be printed.

Can’t wait to get my book in a couple of days!

  1. What a great idea :)

  2. Your family is so cute! Such a fun idea for a gift. My husband fits that exact description of being hard to shop for. I guess for now I can make a photobook of him and our cat since we don’t have kids yet. Haha

  3. That is so cool! I’ll have to check out that software.

  4. That’s a GREAT father’s day gift idea! I have LR 4 and I absolutely love it.

  5. I don’t have LR4 but I have made Blurb books before and I love them. They are the most cost effective of any of the photo books out there.

  6. I need this in my life. Like badly.
